![]() I will try not to spoil much, but this is what I have noticed so far: I have been playing it on and off for the past two days, it seem quite good a refreshing change from the other Civilization games, all the techs/text in the game is all new really immersive. The controls are pretty much the same as Civilization 5. The Aliens are a tiny bit disappointing, there are about 6 different alien species regardless of the planet, I would have hoped they would have had a few different sets. (Don't anger the aliens until you get the tech which unlocks Ultrasonic fences and later pick the quest option to allow your trade units to be protected from alien attacks) Destroying nests is temporary, they will re-spawn after awhile, unless you leave one of your units on the nest tile. Sea aliens are overpowered sending out lone ships is a suicide mission especially early on against just one of them and I have encountered groups with as many as 15 giant sea aliens. The planets have a fair amount of variety, plenty of options to set up how the world looks just like past Civ games only with extra options to make the world look more alien, you can make the world covered in fungus instead of jungles and forests, A barren desert, a frozen wasteland etc.įactions only real difference is their starting bonuses, until you get into the game and make a lot of decisions based on your actions to add little bonuses here and their alter the way the faction plays in each game. (all existing units get upgraded automatically no need to manually pay to upgrade them) The way factions look depends on your faction Affinity, which is determined by the tech you choose to research as your Affinity gets higher you upgrade your troops to higher levels and eventually Affinity specific units. The problem is with only 3 Affinity's unless you choose to face multiple factions your very likely to end up fighting a faction using the exact same strategy as you.Īnd as hard as I have tried, I have yet to find any weapon that rivals nukes, their are orbital lazer weapons though but they have varying ranges and cost a lot of strategic resources to build. So far their are no warnings to let you know the AI is about to win a wonder victory, I lost my first game 4 turns away from winning, I didn't know I had no warning I had lost until the defeat screen came up and prevented me from continuing. Since then I have only turned on the Supremacy victory condition. That's about all I can think of off the top of my head. I would recommend getting it, personally I am enjoying it more than I ever did Civilization 5.
